THE OPPORTUNITY
Every year, young people in King William’s Town and surrounding communities who did not achieve the matric results they need are given another opportunity to rewrite their National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations or upgrade selected subjects.
However, the cost of tuition remains a major barrier for many learners from financially disadvantaged households.
Excel Gene Academy is therefore inviting local businesses, companies, professional practices, community organisations and corporate partners in King William’s Town and surrounding communities to sponsor the tuition fees of deserving Grade 12 Matric Rewrite and Upgrade learners.
Through this initiative, a company can directly invest in the education and future of a young person who is determined to make a second attempt at matric and improve their opportunities for further study, employment and economic participation.
THE PROGRAMME
The programme provides structured academic support to learners who are:
- Rewriting Grade 12 subjects;
- Upgrading their existing matric results;
- Attempting matric for a second time;
- Seeking improved marks for admission to tertiary institutions;
- Unable to afford private tuition despite being academically motivated.
